There's been a lot of talk lately about what is or is not
acceptable blogging practice. Some people say there are a bunch of
rules you should follow, others say pretty much anything goes. Some
have even suggested that the blogging about blogging has gotten out
of hand and should be outlawed. Me-- I'm just looking for something
to write about.
Another blogging sin I haven't noticed get much play lately is
being the first to comment on your own article. There seems to be
something morally dishonest and reprehensible about it-- kinda like
seeding your own tip jar. It makes it look like others have already
found you acceptable and rewarded you and encourages people to do
likewise. People are more likely to comment on something that's
already been commented on. It's a low-down dirty way to tip things in
your favor! Obviously only the lowest-of-the-low point-whore blogging
scum would ever do it. So there!
