I'm tired of the
inanity. For the foreseeable future 90% of my articles will have the
commenting turned off. Maybe one of those extra subscription only
features available when JoeUser goes alpha will be the ability to
subject readers to a quiz before they are allowed to comment. (Good
idea, Brad!) I'd like to make sure you a) actually read and
comprehended the article, and have an I.Q. above 12. I can think
of several of my fellow JUsers the latter would exclude.
How refreshing
this will be. No more staying up, anxiously tracking an article's
progress, hoping beyond hope someone might comment. No more being
disappointed that the article it took me months thinking about, days
to research, and hours to write went totally uncommented on, despite
being read hundreds of times. No more fearing reading my own blog
because I didn't know what commenting stupidity would be coming next.
Think of it -- I'll no longer care when a carefully researched and
written article gets 3 comments while the latest illiterate screed
gets 60-100 comments.
Breath deep the
blessed air of freedom!
If you can't
handle that and no longer want to read my articles as a result --
good riddance.
P.S. -- I give it
a week tops before I get frustrated at not having any feedback.
What
do you think?
