Attention, Jeopardy fans. Today should be the day longtime Jeopardy Champion Ken Jennings loses. After 74 straight wins and more than 2.5 million dollars he will succumb on tonight's show -- Tuesday, November 30th. (In areas where Jeopardy is delayed a day because of Monday Night Football it may be shown tomorrow -- Wednesday, December 1st.)

Ken Jennings' winning streak began on June 2nd. Interrupted only by the summer hiatus and several special theme weeks (Kids Week, College Champion Week) he went on to win 74 straight games and break nearly every existing game show record. He correctly answered more then 2,700 questions before missing tonight's Final Jeopardy, which put him $5,202 short of victory.

I just saw it. Ken Jennings's run is no more. The audience sounded surprised when they saw Jennings's response in Final Jeopardy. His competitor led by one dollar after her answer, I mean question, and prior to his. So when his incorrect question, was revealed, there were audible gasps from the audience.

Update: According to The Washington Post, the amount Ken Jennings loses by is $5,602, not $5,202. (That link also has more accurate information about the final episode than the link in the article.)

For those who can't get enough Jennings-mania, he's scheduled to appear on both "The Late Show with David Letterman" and "Nightline" tonight. Withdraw slowly: tape the interviews and parcel them out over the next couple of days. It might keep the heebie-jeebies down.

Eastern Diamondback, thanks for the information. I have another 3 1/2 hours before I get to see it. Grrr. I gotta get DISH Network or something....

Haha! That's what I usually do when I don't want to know the results of a show - I read a blog about the results, and then proceed to read the comments!

Jennings not being there anymore...his presence has been so accepted that the show without him might as well be the show without Trebek.
