the catholic/beer connection deepens
Published on May 29, 2005 By Gene Nash In Current Events
Hot on the heels of Dr. Guy's article about changes in the Catholic Church, comes this news from the BBC:

Beer mat ads to recruit priests

The Church is launching a recruitment campaign that will use beermats in pubs and posters on the London Underground to promote the priesthood.

The Catholic/beer connection deepens! I wonder if they promote "Free wine and crunchy snacks for all successful applicants!"

It's nice to see they're going after high-quality prospects (or at least prospects on a quality high). They should also try putting advert stickers in those little "adult arcade" booths. It never hurts to flash your stuff where people are regularly coming already.

99 parish priests on the wall, 99 parish priests, if one of those priests should happen to fall, 98 parish priests on the wall...

Or get caught raping a young Muslim boy.

In that case he would be promoted to bishop and transferred to Canada.

Peace Gene!

I am honored by an attribution.

And reading the article, all I could think of was "99 bottles of beer on the wall!". But I see you beat me to it!

I'll bet if they advertised on NAMBLA's site they'd get a rapid influx of applicants.

let us hope that is over with. And like Nazism, it can be relegated to the ash heap of history.
